Supporting User-Friendly Composition of Web Services in the Eclipse Platform

State-of-the-art workflow languages for web services are much better suited for web service composition than traditional general-purpose programming languages. Such workflow languages, however, still require a lot of in-depth technical knowledge. In order to facilitate service composition without requiring such in-depth technical knowledge, a higher level of abstraction is required. We therefore propose a visual service composition environment, which allows user-friendly composition of web services using high-level composition templates, and which supports aspect-oriented software development. This paper provides an overview of the Eclipse plug-in that implements this service composition environment.
